Draper Temple Open House
Mike and I took our family to the Draper Temple Open House yesterday, what a wonderful opportunity to take your children through a temple, the house of the Lord.
First off, the drive there, we were driving over the top of the mountain heading down toward the temple and Katie says, "Hey dad, there is a lake you might like to fish." Those of you not here in Utah, the air has been horrible out, I have been a little cautious of taking my kids out. Well she thought the city topped with smog was a new lake.
As I was saying it was a wonderful experience for me to take my two girls through the temple. Katie was full of questions, she would ask about the paintings, about where she gets dressed when she gets married, why you get married in the temple, etc. What was neat for me was standing and looking into the eternity mirrors with my family, showing Katie that it goes on and on and on. Also the spirit I felt as we stood in the Celestial room all together. It was just amazing to me, the feeling I got as we got to share our testimonies with Katie.
For those of you who don't have tickets yet, you need to get them and take your family. Mike went back today with his boss. The two of us have been praying that we will be able to take a non member, and well our prayers were answered. His boss wanted to go through and see what our temples are all about.

Conversations
So I'm in the kitchen cleaning up and Katie is dancing in the family room with her cousins, Sierra and Clay. They made a corner of the room into the "break room" for when they are tired of dancing. So this is what I hear from Katie:
"Stop kissing me in the break room!"
Luaghter
"Gross, get your tongue out of my mouth. (more laughter) Sick keep your togue out of my mouth!"
I have to see what the heck she is talking about and there is Patches (a dog we were watching for some friends) kissing Katie. Silly kids. :)

2009
I can't believe it's already here, time to sit and set goals for the year. The reason I use this blog is for a journal, I can print out my entries at the end of the year. A few of my goals are:
- Go to temple at least once a month.
- Keep track of our finances, I don't need to go into to much on this, pay off debt, save, make sure we are spending wisely, etc.
-Cook with my food storage.
-Finish Mikes BYU quilt.
-Finish the top of my Book of Mormon quilt.
-Get Katie's and Kortney's scrapbooks up to date. I love this digital scrapbooking, I think it will be a lot easier for me to keep up with.
-Personal Scripture study, it seems I don't create time for this as often as I should.
-participate in tri-athlon in May.
-Lose weight, I have given myself until October to get to my goal weight, unless I get pregnant first.
-Be more kind, loving, patient, and happy with my family.
So what are some of your goals? What are your hopes for this year?
