Mike and I have enjoyed watching our girls bond. Katie has a routine every morning to lug Kortney around the house as they play house. Kortney is so patient with her. This is a video of a Sunday afternoon, we just love how Kortney laughs at her sister.

Artichoke family
So yesterday for dinner we had lasagna and artichokes, one of our favorites, great way to break our fast. Anyway Katie LOVES artichokes, she eats a whole one on her own. She finished the rest of her dinner, which is rare so that she could eat the rest of her artichoke. :)

Kortney was in her high chair and started to get grumpy so I pulled her out and was holding her and she still was a little grouch. So I handed her a leaf off of my artichoke and well she sucked and sucked on it. She ended up eating about 10 of them. She would cry as soon as I would take one away. I guess she is meant to be in our family, we all love them.

Update!!!
I haven't posted forever, I have been wrapped up in life and not taking time to keep up my blog. So here are a few updates: Mike has been busy fishing, playing basketball and traveling for work. Here is a picture of his latest catch he was very happy with it.
He and his buddy spent the night on Utah Lake and fished and caught their prized fish, a walleye. This sucker made 22 fish tacos. He also has been doing really well at work, he has had his best 2 months in the 9 years of business. His basketball team looks like they are headed to regions, good luck honey!!! Katie, she has been a happy little girl. She had strep last week but got over that quickly thanks to modern day medicine. She LOVED Valentines day. She got to have a party and sleepover with some of her cousins. I had fun making her, Kortney, Sierra, Haley and Kelsey matching shirts.
She is a wonderful big sister, I wouldn't be able to shower if it weren't for her. Katie is loving school, and we have had to have our first talk on being "in love". She now knows that we don't have boyfriends at 5. :) Kortney is now 8.5 months old. She is so happy and full of love. She is learning to say "dada" right now and she loves to clap for herself. She is the cause of much laughter in our home.
Anyway she is busy as you can see and finally got her first 2 teeth! Now we can be happy again.
As for me I have just been busy with life. I started Weight Watchers the 2nd week in Jan. and have been to good with it. I am down 12lbs. :) I signed up to do a sprint triathlon in June, so I have been training for that. I am really enjoying getting back into shape and have that competitive edge. For my picture I just have to share my spring cleaning:

I couldn't believe how dirty behind my fridge and oven were. Who knows what was growing back there.
Mike and I have also been busy with our Joseph Smith work. We are getting ready for a reunion in June and are very excited for our Australian cousin to go through the temple. It has been so much fun seeing these relatives learn of the gospel, choose to be baptized and go to the temple. It makes me feel so much joy to heart them share their testimonies. Life is wonderful. :)

Draper Temple Open House

Mike and I took our family to the Draper Temple Open House yesterday, what a wonderful opportunity to take your children through a temple, the house of the Lord.
First off, the drive there, we were driving over the top of the mountain heading down toward the temple and Katie says, "Hey dad, there is a lake you might like to fish." Those of you not here in Utah, the air has been horrible out, I have been a little cautious of taking my kids out. Well she thought the city topped with smog was a new lake.
As I was saying it was a wonderful experience for me to take my two girls through the temple. Katie was full of questions, she would ask about the paintings, about where she gets dressed when she gets married, why you get married in the temple, etc. What was neat for me was standing and looking into the eternity mirrors with my family, showing Katie that it goes on and on and on. Also the spirit I felt as we stood in the Celestial room all together. It was just amazing to me, the feeling I got as we got to share our testimonies with Katie.
For those of you who don't have tickets yet, you need to get them and take your family. Mike went back today with his boss. The two of us have been praying that we will be able to take a non member, and well our prayers were answered. His boss wanted to go through and see what our temples are all about.

Conversations
So I'm in the kitchen cleaning up and Katie is dancing in the family room with her cousins, Sierra and Clay. They made a corner of the room into the "break room" for when they are tired of dancing. So this is what I hear from Katie:
"Stop kissing me in the break room!"
Luaghter
"Gross, get your tongue out of my mouth. (more laughter) Sick keep your togue out of my mouth!"
I have to see what the heck she is talking about and there is Patches (a dog we were watching for some friends) kissing Katie. Silly kids. :)

2009
I can't believe it's already here, time to sit and set goals for the year. The reason I use this blog is for a journal, I can print out my entries at the end of the year. A few of my goals are:
- Go to temple at least once a month.
- Keep track of our finances, I don't need to go into to much on this, pay off debt, save, make sure we are spending wisely, etc.
-Cook with my food storage.
-Finish Mikes BYU quilt.
-Finish the top of my Book of Mormon quilt.
-Get Katie's and Kortney's scrapbooks up to date. I love this digital scrapbooking, I think it will be a lot easier for me to keep up with.
-Personal Scripture study, it seems I don't create time for this as often as I should.
-participate in tri-athlon in May.
-Lose weight, I have given myself until October to get to my goal weight, unless I get pregnant first.
-Be more kind, loving, patient, and happy with my family.
So what are some of your goals? What are your hopes for this year?
